For as long as I can remember, I’ve always been into tattoos. And when I say as long as I can remember, I really mean since pre-school. But please don’t think I was chasing other kids around with needles!

Back then, my artistic weapon of choice was a permanent marker, and my arms were the canvas.

I’ve now been tattooing professionally for nearly 14 years, which surprises a lot of people. But you have to remember where I came from. There was no one around to learn tattooing from and very few studios where I could even try to get an apprenticeship. If I’d found somewhere back then, I would’ve started as early as I possibly could.

In a way, though, that only made me want it more.

When the time finally came, I dedicated my whole life to tattooing. Every hour of every day was spent practising, experimenting and trying new things. It wasn’t just my passion, it became my life.

I started with black and grey, and as much as I loved it, when I discovered colour, something just clicked. I felt complete. It felt right.

I love colour work in every form - realism, abstract pieces, or colours so wild you need sunglasses to look at them.

The whole process fulfils me, from the first idea and design to seeing the finished piece on the skin. My clients look at their tattoo and think it’s amazing… and then I’ll happily spend another two hours obsessing over tiny details because I know I can make it even better. That’s the artist in me. I’m a perfectionist.

I want every piece I create to have a small part of me in it. And one of the best parts of what I do is seeing people’s reactions when they see the finished tattoo , especially when I’m creating portraits of loved ones or something with a deeper personal meaning.

Once I’m working on a piece, it completely takes over my mind. I want every tattoo, no matter how big or small, to be something special. Something people look at and think: wow.

Outside of tattooing, I have plenty of other passions. Music is a huge part of my life, and DJing in particular. It’s like a drug, an addiction , I still get that rush every time I cue up a track and get ready to mix.

I could keep writing about tattoos, music, the many awards I’ve won and everything I’ve experienced along the way… but time flies, and I need to get back to my decks and play something.
